The New Jersey Army National Guard crest adorns the top of the mace. The motto from the New Jersey state seal, “LIBERTY AND PROSPERITY” wraps around the band of the mace. Five decorative scrolls symbolize the five World War II campaign credits. The lyre is the symbol of Army Bands. The diamonds wrapping around the bottom of the mace resemble those on the lion’s collar and denote solidarity amongst the 63D Army Band members.
